Peter Facinelli Brags about Outlasting His Young Twilight Costars
28 Apr 2009 | Comments (0) |
People.com By Jenny Sundel
Twilight's Peter Facinelli, who will reprise his role as the bloodsucking father figure Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the sequel New Moon, could get used to the life of a vampire – at least when it comes to the hours they keep.
"I love night shoots. Everybody else is [tired] by like two, three in the morning, which is weird because I'm the old guy!" Facinelli tells PEOPLE at the Los Angeles premiere of Ghosts of Girlfriends Past on Monday night.
"They should be the ones that should be like party hardy all night long," jokes the 35-year-old of his young costars including Robert Pattinson, 22, Kristen Stewart, 19, and 17-year-old Taylor Lautner. "At five in the morning I was like, 'I could go another 10 hours!' And they were like, 'Crash!' "
Also up for around-the-clock action: fans, who have been camping out on the Vancouver set despite the less-than-welcoming weather.
"The first [film] we were just hoping people went to see it. We knew there were diehard fans and those are the ones we're like, 'Let's make a good movie for [them],' but we didn't know the diehard fans were going to explode into the amount that they did," he says. But the father of three insists he's nothing but grateful for the fan-demonium. "I feel loved by so many fans, like I went to Disneyland the other day, and I took like 100 pictures just walking like 10 feet … you want to give back to them."
Next up, Facinelli will play another kind of doctor in Nurse Jackie, a Showtime dramady debuting in June. How did he prepare to play the "quirky" character, who inappropriately grabs costar Edie Falco? "I did do a whole class on boob grabbing!" he says with a laugh. What did wife Jennie Garth think about that? He teases, "[I told her], 'You're my test subject!' "

28 Jan 2009 | Comments (0) |
PopEater By: Amber James
(Jan. 27) - Even though actor Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in 'Twilight,' admits he hasn't been keeping up with all the 'New Moon' rumors, he is excited to hear that Dakota Fanning might be joining the cast as vampire Jane. "She is a phenomenal actress... [The role of Jane] would be great for her," Facinelli exclusively told PopEater.
"I always think of her as this 12-year-old girl, but she is older now. What is she like 16 now?" he joked.

Peter Facinelli is part of the hottest vampire brood in town with his role as the Cullen patriarch, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, in the box-office hit, Twilight, which has taken in over $123 million at the box office in its 13-day run so far, which spawned Summit Entertainment's announcement of the sequel, New Moon, just a day after the first film had opened. I had the chance to speak with Facinelli over the phone about the success of the first film, and the impending sequel as well. Here's what Facinelli had to say.

FanBolt: Peter Facinelli of Twilight
10 Dec 2008 | Comments (0) |
FanBolt by Emma Loggins
We had the honor of chatting with Peter Facinelli about his role in Twilight. Here's what he had to say:
You played a character that was 350 years old, did that affect how you approached the character at all? Or did you even think about that?
Peter: That was my main concern. I related to him being a patriarch, because I have kids of my own. I got who he was as person through the books. My challenge was how do I bring 350 years plus onto the screen, so I did a lot of history research. I wanted to learn about the period he grew up in, and go through each decade where he might be and where his travels took him... to Italy, Chicago and all of those places in those times. I thought just having that knowledge might help. I felt that the way he moved and talked should reflect someone from a different period, so those were the things that I worked on.

Peter Facinelli Twilight
01 Dec 2008 | Comments (0) |
Can Mag By Fred Topel
Peter Facinelli underwent a drastic transformation to play Dr. Carlyle Cullen in Twilight. It wasn't a matter of inhuman makeup appliances, but rather a realistic pale, blonde look that took time and effort.
Peter Facinelli on Twilight "Well, we did like a week of testing all different kinds of makeup so the makeup team was phenomenal," Facinelli said. "The actors were very patient as we went. We worked it out but they had some kind of gadget from Japan and it was like an ionizer, and it was weird because as they put the makeup on you, if they touched you, you'd get shocked. So it was one of those things that you had to be very careful but it was early in the morning, so if you did get shocked, it kind of woke you up a little bit. So that was fun but that was the transformation with the makeup for me."

Peter Facinelli Excited To Play Carlisle Cullen Again In 'New Moon'
26 Nov 2008 | Comments (1) |
MTV.com By Larry Carroll
'I'm just glad to be a part of it,' actor says of the 'Twilight' movie series.
This past weekend, millions of moviegoers found themselves coming down with a fever for "Twilight" — and the only prescription was more Facinelli.
That's Peter Facinelli for the uninitiated, a Hollywood veteran who discovered the most iconic character in his decade-and-a-half career when he signed up to play charismatic, compassionate, vegetarian vampire/ town physician Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Now that news of a "Twilight" sequel has given the fans just what the doctor ordered, Facinelli was eager to talk to us about Team Carlisle, his "New Moon" family reunion, and grabbing a celebratory drink with Robert Pattinson.

Team 'Twilight' vamps it up at premiere
18 Nov 2008 | Comments (0) |
USA Today By Sharon Knolle
LOS ANGELES — Let this be a warning to all teen girls: Vampire love can make you go deaf. Or lose your voice. At Monday night's world premiere of the movie Twilight, hundreds of fans, the vast majority teen girls, roared, cheered and swooned as stars of the film, opening Friday, made their way down the red carpet at the Mann Village and Bruin Theaters in Westwood.
The most deafening cheers burst forth for star Robert Pattinson, the British actor previously known as poor, doomed Cedric in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The actor plays brooding "good-guy" vampire Edward Cullen in the film, based on a best-selling books series, and has become the heartthrob of the moment.
"Oh yeah, they flip over him," said Kristen Stewart, who plays Edward's mortal love, Bella. "All he has to do is run his hands through his hair."

Twilight's Facinelli: Necking With Robert Pattinson
17 Nov 2008 | Comments (0) |
By Mark Malkin
It's not exactly kissing and telling, but Peter Facinelli likes to brag about what it was like to neck with Robert Pattinson in Twilight.
"It was great," Facinelli (above with Elizabeth Reaser as Esme) says with a laugh. "I can actually say I'm one of the few guys who have necked with Rob Pattinson. A lot of people are envious of me."
Before you get your Brokeback Mountain undies in a twist, know that it's no hanky-panky between the two in the movie adaptation of the best-selling young-adult vampire novel. Facinelli plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen, a centuries-old vampire who is seen in the flick taking a bite out of Edward Cullen (Pattinson) to turn him into a fellow bloodsucker.
What really sucked for Facinelli, however, was having to dye his hair blond for the Catherine Hardwicke-directed movie...
"I was walking down the street one time and I looked at a guy," Facinelli remembers. "He looked at me and I smiled to say hello, and he said, 'What ya lookin' at?' I was like, 'Nothing.' And he literally turned around and started following me, like he wanted to kick my ass just because I had blond hair."
He better get used to those golden locks. It's not official yet, but it's fairly certain there will be at least a couple of Twilight sequels.
Finally, Facinelli says, his 11-year-old daughter with Beverly Hills 90210 star and Dancing With the Stars contestant Jennie Garth can see something he's actually been in. As of now, they've limited her to teen fave What I Like About You and another film in which he played a blind mountain climber.
"Most of the stuff I've done in the past is for adults with a lot of gun shooting and cops," Facinelli says. "For a long time it was 'I know Mommy's an actress, but what do you do, Daddy?'"

'Twilight' Countdown: Peter Facinelli says he's on Team Edward
11 Nov 2008 | Comments (0) |
LA Times By Denise Martin
9 more days...
I sat down with Peter Facinelli at the tail end of Saturday's "Twilight" smorgasbord. Needless to say, he was a lot more relaxed than his co-stars, who were being hounded from all sides.
The actor, who plays the magnanimous Dr. Carlisle, revealed why "New Moon" bothered him, why it's important for him to interact with "Twilight" fans, and, yes, what he thinks of the new "90210," starring his wife, Jennie Garth.
Have you had any crazy fan experience yet?
I’ve had really nice experiences. A group of TwilightMOMs came to the set and were so sweet, always bringing presents. They brought this big basket of food and cookies -- they are the best fans to have. They’re feeding me, I’m happy!

Q&A: Twilight’s Peter Facinelli
07 Nov 2008 | Comments (0) |
Vanity Fair By Adrienne Gaffney
Peter Facinelli, 34, plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen, a young vampire who has taken in a group of younger vampires and acts as a father figure to them. Facinelli, who is married to 90210’s Jennie Garth, did stints on Six Feet Under and Damages and starred in Fastlane, a TV show that aired in 2002.
VF Daily: What path did you take to get to Hollywood?
Peter Facinelli: I studied theater at New York University and with the Atlantic Theater Company. My first project, in 1995, was a small role in a movie called Angela, which was directed by Rebecca Miller, who is Arthur Miller’s daughter. I played Lucifer the devil, which was a great role because I was in white makeup from head to toe. I was completely unrecognizable. It is funny that that kicked off my career because I love playing characters that look different than I do or are different in nature.

Peter Facinelli Compares 'Twilight' Patriarch Carlisle Cullen To His Breakthrough Role In 'Can't Hardly Wait'
29 Sep 2008 | Comments (0) |
MTV.com By Larry Carroll
'Carlisle's compassion lies in humanity — so he'd have to let Mike Dexter die,' actor says.
Check out Peter Facinelli's message board on IMDb, and one of the first headlines you'll see is "Mike Dexter cannot play Carlisle!" But, believe it or not, Facinelli is an actor, and he firmly believes that his iconic jerk from "Can't Hardly Wait" and the sensitive, kind Carlisle Cullen can share the same body.
Now, a decade after he burst onto the scene as a jerky jock in the film that launched the careers of everyone from Seth Green to Jaime Pressly to Jason Segel and Selma Blair, "Can't Hardly Wait" is back for a 10th-anniversary DVD. Looking back on the role that started it all, and ahead to the "Twilight" movie that will take his career to the next level November 21, the affable actor spoke with us recently about locking himself in a tool shed, buying off the "Twilight" director for 30 bucks, and what would happen if Mike and Carlisle were to meet.

Peter Facinelli "Can't Hardly" Believe It's Been 10 Years!
24 Sep 2008 | Comments (0) |
New York Post - PopWrap by: Jarett Wieselman
June 19, 1998.
That was the date I first saw "Can't Hardly Wait" at Cinema 10 in Succasunna, NJ. I went with my friend Cameron and was totally caught off guard at how much I liked the movie - the girl from "Party of Five" had such pretty hair and Mark from "Empire Records" got hot - but not nearly as sexy as that new guy who played Mike Dexter.
That was Peter Facinelli and "Can't Hardly Wait" marked his first mainstream box office hit - a movie he still gets approached about today even after starring in countless film and television roles.
As "Can't Hardly Wait: 10 Year Reunion Edition" graduates to DVD on September 30, making me feel about 100 years old, I caught up with Peter - who is coming off a brilliant performance on "Damages" and gearing up for one in the sure-to-be-blockbuster "Twilight" - to talk about the film that started it all.

‘Twilight’ Tuesday: Peter Facinelli Talks Vampire Baseball
09 Sep 2008 | Comments (0) |
MTV.com by: Larry Carroll
Three of my favorite things in this entire world are movies, baseball (Go Red Sox!) and the “Twilight” universe. So needless to say, I’m really friggin’ excited about the one scene in November’s movie that will combine all three.
This week’s “Twilight” Tuesday focuses on the very cool Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen. While speaking with him, I got super excited when he revealed an ad lib he put into the baseball scene, revealing Carlisle’s history of hanging out with Babe Ruth — and, much like myself, he cited the superpowered sequence as the moment he’s most eager to see on the big screen.

Jennie Garth may be reprising her role as the stylish Kelly Taylor on the new 90210, but earlier this year, looks were the last thing on her mind.
"I had this six months of hell," the actress, 36, tells PEOPLE. "I had a sick daughter and then my father passed away, so there was a six month period in my life when I didn't think about my looks or my weight or my body or anything."

PORTLAND, Oregon — Warm during the day, chilly at night, with an inviting moon and huge Douglas fir trees that wrap around you like a hug, the Beaver State is a beautiful place for a couple to visit in April — particularly if you're a head-over-heels high school student and a bloodthirsty, impossibly sexy, 100-year-old vampire.
