‘Twilight’ Stars Filming A Secret Movie? Nikki Reed Spills the Beans
28 Apr 2009 | Comments (0) |
MTV by Larry Carroll
By now, anybody with a pulse and a bookshelf knows that the “Twilight” movie was a big hit, and that sequels “New Moon,” “Eclipse” and most likely “Breaking Dawn” will be following it in the years to come. But even the biggest Twilighters might not be aware of one additional, secret “Twilight” flick that could be coming to a theater near you, courtesy of a few of the film’s stars.
“My brother goes to UCLA, and he’s making a documentary right now called ‘The Glorification of Celebrities’,” revealed Nikki Reed when we spoke with her a little while ago, explaining a small film that will feature herself, Kristen Stewart and other young stars commenting on the newfound power and pressure bestowed on them practically overnight. “’Twilight’ will play a role in it, but it is just about [exploring]: What is the definition of being a celebrity now?
Walk up to any supermarket checkout these days and you’ll be inundated with tabloid headlines screaming about what RPattz is up to, who Nikki is dating, or what outrageous quote KStew supposedly let slip. But as they’ve gone from relative unknowns to magazine-selling celebs, Reed’s brother Nathan has been chronicling the rise of the “Twilight” phenomenon with his camera.
“I think fans with be able to see this,” she said of the flick, which the Reeds expect to graduate beyond the little-seen world of student films. “I am trying to be as involved as I possibly can. I think ‘Twilight’ was a wonderful thing for him to use [in the film], because it escalated quite quickly. It went from being this little tiny book series that none of the actors really knew anything about to this explosion that happened somewhere around the summer [of 2008]; I started walking outside and people started yelling ‘Rosalie!’”
“My brother has been following that,” she explained. “And it’s great because I know Kristen [Stewart] and he gets to speak with her. And he has a reason to travel with me now.”
A fortunate side-effect from the experience, Reed explained, was that it has brought the two siblings closer together. “We realize now, as we get older, that he really didn’t understand me and I didn’t understand him,” she explained. “I moved out when I was fourteen, and it’s a long story - but he is doing wonderful things with his life.”
“He has been interviewing a lot of fans as well,” she said of “Glorification,” which will focus not only on “Twilight” stars, but also on what fame does to other overnight sensations in Hollywood. “There is a Nikki Reed’s Mafia group [that will be in the doc] - and if you guys are watching, thanks. Because they show up everywhere with signs.”

Twilight's Nikki Reed: 'So Proud' of Taylor Lautner
13 Mar 2009 | Comments (0) |
People By Lisa Ingrassia
As the Twilight cast heads to Vancouver this week to begin rehearsals for the film's sequel, New Moon, Nikki Reed says she's relieved to have pal Taylor Lautner in the cast.
"I'm so proud of him," she tells PEOPLE. "He didn't have the part."
Lautner, who portrayed Jacob in Twilight, had to audition to keep his role in New Moon because the character undergoes a drastic physical transformation and becomes a hulking werewolf.
"Everybody knew he was going to have to fight for this," says Reed, 20, who plays vampire Rosalie Hale. "He was at the gym twice or three times a day. He was on a nutrition and workout regime for the last year not knowing if he would be in this film."
"We were all on edge," Reed says about waiting to hear if Lautner had been cast again as Jacob. "It got closer and closer, and it was heartbreaking. Kristen [Stewart] and I were in Africa when we got the call saying he got the part. She's so stoked."
Preparing to begin filming with director Chris Weitz at the end of March shortly following the March 21 release of the Twilight DVD, Reed says she's glad it wasn't her that had to audition again.
"I don't know if I would have had the confidence to do that, and be told 'no' if it didn't work out. He just went in there and said, 'I'm going to do the best that I can.' And it paid off. I'm so happy for him."

'Twilight' Actress Reveals The Real Robert Pattinson
10 Mar 2009 | Comments (0) |
MTV By Jocelyn Vena
Plus, Taylor Lautner tries to make nice with Team Edward: 'I love you guys!'
Robert Pattinson is known as a swoon-worthy Brit with a killer head of hair, but his "Twilight" co-star wants RPattz fans to see a new side of the actor.
"He's really talented, he's really smart, he's really musical, he's an intellectual, he reads," Nikki Reed told "Access Hollywood." "That's the side that I wish people would [ask about]. I don't know if anyone necessarily even knows him ... that side of him."
And although Pattinson has captured the hearts of teen girls everywhere, for the "Twilight" cast, he's no different than anyone else. "We got to know him in a different environment," Reed added. "I don't feel any differently about Rob than I do about the rest of the cast."
But one male co-star who did manage to win the affections of the ladies on set is Taylor Lautner. "Taylor's my fave!" Reed gushed, while co-star and fellow Team Jacob member Rachelle Lefevre added: "I already adopted him, back off!"
The ladies admire the fact that Lautner worked so hard to win back his role of Jacob Black for the sequel. "His commitment is unbelievable," Lefevre said. "I would've ran away. ... I would've been terrified. He had to screen-test again."
And Lautner recently admitted that he is a bit nervous about heading back on set to reprise the role he fought so hard to get. "I'm getting a little nervous," Lautner told E! News. "But I'm so thankful for the fans and even those Robert Pattinson/ Edward fans. I know we wouldn't ... be here filming 'New Moon' and [then] filming 'Eclipse' if it wasn't for them."
He just hopes that Team Edward members "don't hate on me too much. I love you guys!"

People by: Michelle Tan and Lisa Ingrassia
It's (finally!) official: Dakota Fanning is getting her fangs.
The 14-year-old actress is set to star in New Moon as Jane – a sinister vampire with an angelic exterior who works for the Volturi, a rep for Summit Entertainment confirms to PEOPLE.
Filming of Twilight sequel is set to begin in Vancouver later this month. The movie hits theaters in November.
"We did just get a script. We're shooting the rest of the films back to back," says Nikki Reed, who plays Rosalie Hale in the film. "(Director) Chris Weitz is amazing and I think it's going to be wonderful."

Robert Pattinson is so easy going that he doesn't really mind when other people make fun of him.
Even his Twilight family members have been getting in on the act.
Nikki Reed and Kellan Lutz have been saying that Rob runs like a mountain goat but he isn't bothered.

When folks like "South Park" and "The Soup" — and even Kathie Lee Gifford — are all talking about your movie, you know you've become a pop-culture phenomenon. And, oh yeah, $70 million doesn't hurt either.
Even the haters wouldn't dare debate the notion that a bright, shining spotlight is now focused on the young stars of "Twilight." The question is: Where do they go from here? On Tuesday (November 25), we took a peek into the immediate future of Robert Pattinson. Looking at his co-stars' calendars, we find a similarly intriguing mix — this time filled with pet projects, 3-D slasher flicks and gender-bending dramas.

MTV.com by Larry Carroll
In just a few more days, “Twilight” fans will come out by the millions to see beautiful young actresses Kristen Stewart and Nikki Reed star in the feature film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s beloved vampire book. Now, MTV has the scoop on the out-of-left-field concept that will reunite the real-life friends just a few weeks later…as men?
“I’m doing a movie called ‘K-11’ in January with Kristen Stewart,” Reed told us on the red carpet of the “Twilight” premiere Monday night. “It’s about a little-known section of the men’s county jail. I’m playing a man, and Kristen’s playing a boy.”

Really Endless Love: Kristen Stewart, Nikki Reed on 'Twilight'
19 Nov 2008 | Comments (0) |
Express Night Out
MILLIONS WILL RUSH to theaters come midnight Friday, sporting "Mrs. Cullen" T-shirts, fake fangs, and with tickets in hand.
"Twilight" is the first in Stephenie Meyer's four-part book series about forbidden love between small-town girl Bella Swan and sexy vampire Edward Cullen. It's also, now, a film, which has generated a fan base so fervid -- and with such high expectations -- that the studio is hedging its bets by sending out the film's stars to enchant the story's acolytes.
Last Thursday, Kristen Stewart and Nikki Reed, who play Bella and the vampire Rosalie, respectively, seemed ready to face the frenzy of 500 fans at Fairfax's Fair Oaks Shopping Center. (Stewart's co-star, Robert Pattinson, who plays the dreamy Cullen, stopped at a California Hot Topic last week; the subsequent mayhem left four people with minor injuries.)
Already, the two have had their personal share of overexcited fans.

Team 'Twilight' vamps it up at premiere
18 Nov 2008 | Comments (0) |
USA Today By Sharon Knolle
LOS ANGELES — Let this be a warning to all teen girls: Vampire love can make you go deaf. Or lose your voice. At Monday night's world premiere of the movie Twilight, hundreds of fans, the vast majority teen girls, roared, cheered and swooned as stars of the film, opening Friday, made their way down the red carpet at the Mann Village and Bruin Theaters in Westwood.
The most deafening cheers burst forth for star Robert Pattinson, the British actor previously known as poor, doomed Cedric in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The actor plays brooding "good-guy" vampire Edward Cullen in the film, based on a best-selling books series, and has become the heartthrob of the moment.
"Oh yeah, they flip over him," said Kristen Stewart, who plays Edward's mortal love, Bella. "All he has to do is run his hands through his hair."

At the Mall, 'Twilight's' Future Looks Bright
14 Nov 2008 | Comments (0) |
Washington Post By Jennifer Frey
Ah, teen love. What is it without angst? What 13-year-old girl would not stand outside in the frigid cold at 4 a.m. for the chance to bask in the personal glow of her passion? What true believer would blanch at being pressed against a police barricade, as the crowd behind her surges forward in hope of capturing the perfect cellphone shots of the one they adore?
"Twilight" has descended on Fair Oaks Mall, a stop on the film tour for the book series of the same name. Written by Stephenie Meyer, it is the tale of the incremental, complicated romance between the loner Bella (played by Kristen Stewart) and the vampire boy Edward. It's fantasy love by inches, and it seems that every girl in a black T-shirt and Converse All-Stars or ballet flats can relate.
"I just met Kristen Stewart and Nikki Reed!" gasps Nicole Harman, a Fairfax 11-year-old, trying to explain why her face is apoplectically pink and why she's fanning herself with her right hand, as if breath might stop at any moment. "Oh my God. I can't stand up right now. Oh my God."

Kristen Stewart, Nikki Reed talk 'Twilight'
13 Nov 2008 | Comments (0) |
USA Weekend By Lorrie Lynch with Kathy Rowings
It’s only one day until our exciting Twilight issue of USA WEEKEND, and we have something very special for our readers: an exclusive chat with two of the movie’s stars, Kristen Stewart and Nikki Reed. Our Brian Truitt caught up with the two friends at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C., this morning, just a few hours before Stewart was headed down to Northern Virginia to sign autographs at a Hot Topic store in Fairfax. The Twilight Tour has been utter insanity so far: In San Francisco, so many fans showed up to get a chance to meet Stewart’s on-screen paramour, Robert Pattinson — who plays the vampiric suitor Edward in the movie — that there was a near-riot. And at 3 a.m. this morning, 2,000 fans were at Fairfax’s Fair Oaks Mall trying to be one of the lucky 500 to get a wristband and opportunity to meet Stewart. Ah, the wonders of being involved in a project beloved by bajillions of teenage girls. Click read more below for the first part of Brian’s interview with the actresses (stay tuned for part two tomorrow) and remember to check here to find out where you can find your Twilight issue of USA WEEKEND starting tomorrow!

Exclusive Interview with Nikki Reed - Rosalie in 'Twilight'
12 Nov 2008 | Comments (0) |
About.com By Rebecca Murray
Nikki Reed Discusses 'Twilight' and Playing a Gorgeous Blonde Vampire
Nikki Reed tackles the role of Rosalie, a beautiful vampire who puts fashion models to shame, in the movie version of Stephenie Meyer's bestselling book, Twilight. Reed is absolutely stunning, though not a blonde like her character in Twilight, and the actress went to great lengths to transform herself into Rosalie in order to satisfy fans of the book. And if all goes as expected, Reed will have to go through the process of becoming Rosalie a couple more times (if New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn movies are given the go-ahead). Reed's ready to do so, even though it's a rather arduous process.
Reed's been acting in films since bursting onto the scene in Thirteen, a powerful coming-of-age story which she not only starred in but also wrote. Well-spoken and passionate about where she wants to go in life, Reed told me in our interview she's working on more writing projects with hopes of eventually taking a seat in the director's chair at some point down the line. But for now, Twilight promotional duties are keeping her busy.

Q&A: Twilight’s Nikki Reed
07 Nov 2008 | Comments (0) |
Vanity Fair By Kate Ahlborn
Nikki Reed, 20, plays Rosalie Hale, the sublimely beautiful vampire who kept her last name after being adopted by the Cullen family. She dislikes Bella and disapproves of her relationship with Edward. Reed’s past film credits include Thirteen, which she co-wrote and starred in, and Lords of Dogtown.
VF Daily: Had you read the Twilight books before getting the script?
Nikki Reed: No. I got a phone call about Twilight months before the film was going to be made and there was very little hype about the idea, at least in my world. I hadn’t heard of the books, to be perfectly honest. I read the three books that were available when we were in rehearsal in Portland. This script revolves around Kristen Stewart [Bella] and Rob Pattinson’s [Edward] characters, so the rest of us who wanted to give the movie a deeper feel had to read the books. Rosalie’s character doesn’t really get fleshed out until the third book, so I had to read it to know where she was coming from and to make her more than just background.

Vampire pals hang out in the 'Twilight'
31 Oct 2008 | Comments (0) |
LA Times by Gina McIntyre
Their vampire characters shun human blood. The young actors are a similarly civilized group, having spent so much quality time together.
Robert Pattinson has all the traits of a Hollywood heartthrob -- photogenic features, a lovely British accent and a starring role as the brooding but devastatingly handsome good guy vampire Edward Cullen in “Twilight,” the big-screen adaptation of the first installment in author Stephenie Meyer's wildly successful young-adult book series due in theaters Nov. 21.
The only thing that doesn't quite fit? Pattinson is one seriously self-deprecating guy.
"I can't watch myself on screen," said the 22-year-old actor, who previously appeared as Cedric Diggory in the "Harry Potter" films. "When my parents say, 'Oh, did you see this photo?' I immediately start going, 'Don't tell me about photos!' I haven't watched anything since the premiere of 'Harry Potter.' And that's because I couldn't find a way out.

'Twilight' Countdown: Robert Pattinson and his vampire pals
31 Oct 2008 | Comments (0) |
LA Times by Denise Martin
20 days left...
As promised, here is the early edition of the paper's Sunday story on "Twilight." Times writer Gina McIntyre spent a sunny afternoon -- read: scorching hot at 100 degrees F -- with the actors who play three Cullen sibs: Robert Pattinson (Edward), Kellan Lutz (Emmett) and Nikki Reed (Rosalie).
She learned about Robert's "embarrassing" on-set injury...
For the movie's action sequences, the actors experimented with stunts and wire work, which Pattinson admits did not play to his strengths. "I got injured on the first shot of the first day," he said. "I wasn't even doing a stunt. I was just trying to pick up Kristen and I almost tore my hamstring because I hadn't been doing enough squats. It was very embarrassing."
...and what the boys did to wind down...
"When we did have those hard days," added Lutz, 23, "we would go back to Rob's room. He had a couple of guitars in there and a lot of great music. It was really fun being able to relax and have the cast come together, having that time just to bond and not really be actors but friends."
