Twilight star Robert Pattinson has said he 'would love' to play James Bond in the future.

The 23-year-old actor said he would love to take over the role, but might not be so good as an agent as he is 'not very good at running'.

He said: 'I would love to [play Bond]. Maybe in a few years, what am I talking about? I'd love to!'

Pattinson added to Sky News: 'I'm not very good at running so that's a bit of a problem for James Bond.'

The actor is currently starring opposite Lost actress Emilie De Ravin in the new movie Remember Me, which recently had its UK premiere in London.

By the time the box-office weekend is over, Stewart's The Runaways, opening Friday, will be rocking, while Pattinson's Remember Me will be faded. How can we be so sure? Five box-office truths:

1. People coo over babies.

Unless you're Avatar or Alice in Wonderland, which Remember Me isn't, holdovers get outshined by the latest multiplex entries.

2. Size matters.

"I think relatively speaking, The Runaways should be more successful [than Remember Me]," Box Office Mojo's Brandon Gray says.

This is because The Runaways, a low-budget rock flick plucked from Sundance, is opening at one-tenth the number of theaters as Remember Me. If The Runaways grosses just $1 million, then�voila!�it'll enjoy a bigger screen-for-screen debut than Remember Me, which got tepid buzz for its $8.1 million wide-release opening.

And if The Runaways makes $2 million? It's a hit!

3. Critically acclaimed movies never bomb; they're misunderstood.

When Remember Me didn't set the world on fire, at least it had its glowing reviews to keep itself warm...Oh, wait, no, it didn't.

The Runaways, however, does. At last check, its Rotten Tomatoes score was a hot 74 percent. (Remember Me's was 26 percent.) Hence, should The Runaways fail to light up the art-house circuit, its admirers will look for the bright side�and blame the audience and/or the marketing.

4. It sucks to be Robert Pattinson.

Pattinson was Remember Me. His face was all over the posters, the trailers and the commercials. The movie's underwhelming opening weekend was his underwhelming opening weekend. The man had no cover.

The Runaways, on the other hand, is not a Kristen Stewart movie. It's not even a Dakota Fanning movie, to name one of Stewart's costars.

"It's a rock 'n' roll biographical picture that's portraying a niche band," Gray says. "It's obviously not a ding on Kristen Stewart if it doesn't take off."

And if it does take off, then she takes right off with it. The woman can't lose.

5. Joan Jett is cool.

Technically, this isn't a box-office truth. But since Stewart plays the influential rocker, we thought we'd point it out anyway. As a universal truth.

Sundance Selects Premieres ‘Enemy’s Enemy,’ ‘Against the Current’

Sundance Selects, which is available on the main on-demand platform of such cable operators as Comcast, Cox, Cablevision and Time Warner, has two new films coming in March.

March 10 comes My Enemy’s Enemy, a documentary from Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland) shown at the Telluride and Toronto film festivals that tells of Nazi war criminal Klaus Barbie a.k.a. the Butcher of Lyon. His story is said to be full of intrigue and suspense, along the lines of such films as The Odessa File and The Boys From Brazil.

Also, coming March 24 is Against the Current, a drama based on a true story of a man who aims to swim the Hudson River. The film premiered at Sundance and stars Joseph Fiennes, Justin Kirk (“Weeds”), Elizabeth Reaser (The Twilight Saga: New Moon), Michelle Trachtenberg (awesomely bitchy Georgina Sparks in “Gossip Girl”) and none other than Mary Tyler Moore.

The films will be available for two to three months.

NEW YORK � The mountains of snow piled up on the sidewalks could not keep Robert Pattinson's fans at bay Monday evening (March 1) at the red-carpet premiere for his romantic drama, "Remember Me." The screaming masses lined up early and were gifted with a few moments of rabid OME-dom as RPattz ran down the line greeting all those who waited to catch a glimpse of him.

Inside the makeshift press tent at the Paris Theatre in midtown, the energy was no less wild, the screams of folks waiting to talk with Pattinson no less ear-piercing. But the 23-year-old superstar, tired yet amused as ever by the pandemonium, seemed to take it all in stride. While MTV News was chatting with his co-star Emilie de Ravin, Pattinson leaned over and shouted, "Emilie! Emilie! What's the most fascinating thing about me? Just say it!"

It was that kind of evening, as all involved in "Remember Me" contended with the noisy reality of what it means to have a "Twilight" vampire in your cast. De Ravin and co-stars Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper spoke about how this role � in which RPattz plays a rebellious young man who falls for a beautiful girl (De Ravin) � represents a profound evolution for Pattinson as an actor.

"It means growth," Cooper said of his co-star's part. "Robert had a big hand as an executive producer in this film. That tells me he's going to branch out into fields other than acting. He's got a lot to deal with already, but he's been able to handle it beautifully."

De Ravin, who earlier had told MTV News about her instant connection with Pattinson, continued to rave about his skills in front of the camera. "He's amazing," she said. "He's fascinating to watch because he's so naturally subtle and interesting."

While the cries from onlookers increased as Pattinson went to greet his fans, Brosnan could only stand back and watch with pride. "This is his night," he said. "I think this particular piece of drama for him is very significant as a young actor who's come on the stage in a blinding glare of light and fame. He's an executive producer on this film, so he's committed himself to finding good work."

Twilight starlet Nikki Reid has spoken out about her co-star Kellan Lutz now infamous Calvin Klein ads - and we think we can safely add her to his list of admirers! "I think he looks fantastic," Nikki told E! Entertainment, "I'm actually really proud of him...It takes a lot of balls, no pun intended, to stand and pose like that, I wouldn't have the guts to stand there naked like that. Unless I looked like Eva Mendes!"

The star, who plays Rosalie Cullen to Kellan's Emmett Cullen in the hit Twilight Saga, did however remain tight-lipped about Breaking Dawn, the fourth instalment in the franchise: "We are making it, I do know that. As for an exact date, I don't know." When asked about the speculation that if would be made into two movies, she teased: "I do know the answer to that..." but refused to elaborate. Spoilsport!

In the four years that they were together, the quintet of teenage girls that made up The Runaways cut a swath of hard rock, harder kisses, and, eventually, scary-hard drugs through the legendary glam scene of 1970s Los Angeles. Their exploits-and exploitation-are the stuff of legend and now of The Runaways, the debut feature film from photographer and video director Floria Sigismondi. Based on trouble-doll lead singer Cherie Currie's 1989 autobiography, Neon Angel, Sigismondi hones in on the relationship between Currie and the band's co-founder, songwriter, and guitarist Joan Jett (Currie's book, written with Tony O'Neill, is being published in an updated version this month by HarperCollins). Dakota Fanning plays the beautiful, damaged Currie; Michael Shannon steals the show as the evil genius svengali Kim Fowley; and Kristen Stewart plays Jett, all black-leather attitude and sex appeal-Elvis plus estrogen.

MCDONNELL: How was it working with Kristen Stewart, who plays you in the film? What did you tell her? How did she study you?

JETT: Well, I found Kristen to be through and through totally professional and just great to be around. I found us to be really, scarily similar, just in our physicality, the way we move through space. The first time we met was a little over a year ago, New Year's Eve. She came to see us do a concert. We hung out for the whole day, and I just dumped on her about everything I could think about The Runaways-I mean, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I told her all that stuff and how much it meant to me. Then she went off to do New Moon, and I didn't see her again until about two weeks before The Runaways thing started. But she is so authentic. The thing that came through to me was that it was important to her to capture it. She really wanted to nail it. So I gave her all The Runaways music that I could find; I gave her tapes of me talking. . . . When we were together prior to the start of filming, she was staring at me the whole time. And I was fine with it because I knew she was watching my posture, my mannerisms, everything I did, the way I hold my hands, just everything. And she really soaked it in. When we were hanging out together on set, it was like I had a mirror image. Even just sitting around, we'd do the same thing at the same time. It was just great-and it wasn't creepy. It was wonderfully special.

TWILIGHT'S Kristen Stewart has revealed she is still so 'overwhelmed' at all the mania surrounding her.

Twilight: New Moon star Kristen Stewart, who has won both a Bafta and Woman Of The Year at the Elle Style Awards in just two days, EXCLUSIVELY told OK.co.uk she is amazed at the reaction and support she's had from fans in the British capital.

The 19-year-old, who was looking bang-on-trend in a mini-dress emblazoned with a striking, graphic print, gushed to OK.co.uk: "Overwhelming is the perfect word to describe [everything at the moment.]

"I mean you go from the Baftas to the Elle Style Awards winning Woman Of The Year at 19 which is just an insane concept."

The Runaways actress, who is emerging as a fashion icon after stepping out in a series of designer gowns, said she is very last-minute when it comes to choosing her outfits.

Kristen said: "I never know what I'm going to wear until five minutes before I go somewhere."

She added her laid-back approach to fashion also means she won't be seen in an outfit she's not happy with.

They've monopolized magazine covers and encouraged moviegoers around the world to spend more than $1 billion at the box office. Surely, the three young stars of the Twilight franchise �Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart� have earned a break in between big-screen installments of their supernatural saga.

Not if they desire careers that require more than just being a brooding vampire, a hard-bodied werewolf and the sulky girl who loves them. When it comes to life after multi-part blockbusters such as the Star Wars trilogies, opportunity often awaits. But so does type-casting, poor decision-making and outright rejection. Only a chosen few rise to Harrison Ford heights.

That might explain why each of the Twilight trio has at least one film coming long before the third outing based on Stephenie Meyer's literary phenom, Eclipse, arrives June 30.

Kristen Stewart On Her Recent Haiti Support: 'Of Course I’d Help'

When you’re somebody like Kristen Stewart, every move you make is looked at under a magnifying glass. Whether you’re doing something good or otherwise, you can bet that it will be plastered all over the blogs, tabloids and entertainment shows within hours. Which made it all the more refreshing last week when word spread � from Twitter to paparazzi to news outlets � that KStew was making a rare appearance on the Hollywood party scene, in support of Haiti relief efforts.

Much like “Twilight Saga” costars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, who both participated in George Clooney’s telethon launched days after a massive earthquake rocked the country and killed hundreds of thousands � KStew used her star power to get some help for Haiti. And when we asked her recently about the appearance, she said it was a no-brainer.

“I would imagine it would mean a lot to anyone who cares about any level of humanity,” Kristen explained of her desire to help Haiti relief efforts. She urged her fans to do the same. “It would make sense to me.”

As for the event itself, Kristen said that she usually doesn’t make a habit of venturing out to the Hollywood hotspots, but in this case, she made an exception because she knew it would benefit earthquake survivors in dire need of help.

“I was just invited to it; it wasn’t like a big deal,” explained Kristen, who can be seen February 26th in “The Yellow Handkerchief,” opening in limited release. “[The organizers were] just like ‘Do you want to come? It would mean a lot to the fans.'"

“I said ‘Of course I’ll be there,'" Kristen explained, playing down her formidable star power while simultaneously insisting that any other person in her position would do the same. “It wasn’t a big deal. It was just something where, of course I’d help.”

Robert Pattinson is not exactly known for being overly gregarious with his fans in public. But who knows � that could change if he keeps hanging out with Pierce Brosnan.

The two actors worked together in the upcoming film Remember Me, and in their downtime together, the former James Bond, 56, mentored the young Twilight heartthrob in the art of handling the gawking masses.

"He's totally recognizable, and he makes no effort to tone it down," Pattinson tells Vogue for its March issue. "Some people were glancing over at us in the restaurant, and he just went over and introduced himself. And it does work. It dissipates all the attention."

What, that's not Pattinson's typical approach? "Me? I just crawl under the table," he says.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - If the expression slow and steady wins the race is true, then actress Anna Kendrick has finally edged her way to the front of Hollywood's pack of young actresses.

This week, Kendrick, 24, earned a supporting actress Oscar nomination for her work in "Up in the Air," playing a perky young executive out to teach George Clooney's character how to fire people in the modern-day world of computer communication.

The Oscar nod -- her first -- followed her role in November's box office hit "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," and this week Vanity Fair anointed her one of the fresh faces to watch in its annual Hollywood issue.

But the truth is, Kendrick's "fresh face" has been racking up accolades on stage and in independent films for years before she hit the mainstream jackpot with the "Twilight" movies and now "Up in the Air."

Still, this past week's Oscar nomination and the month of awards shows and critical acclaim that came before it have caught Kendrick in a whirlwind of big-time Hollywood publicity that she still can't quite grasp.

"There's always a part of you that's going to feel like a version of yourself that couldn't find a job and you wonder what tricks you pulled to get into the party," Kendrick told Reuters.

She still has one more "Twilight" film, "Eclipse," due in theaters on June 30. In the saga, Kendrick portrays Jessica Stanley, a friend and classmate of lead character Bella Swan. It is a small role, but enough to make her a recognizable face to her fans without overshadowing the rest of her career.

"I've been really lucky to not be defined completely by that series," says Kendrick.

The entire cast originally signed contracts for the first three installments, and Kendrick said she still does not know if her character will be in the fourth film, "Breaking Dawn."

"I honestly feel like Jessica is one of those characters that if she wasn't in the movie, nobody would miss her," she says. "At the same time, I feel a certain affection for the films so if they ask me, I would love to. I don't have my fingers crossed either way."

Did Kristen Stewart's Jury Duty Cause Courthouse Drama?

If she's ever offered a hard-boiled courtroom drama, Kristen Stewart will have already done her research.

The Twilight star recently served on a Los Angeles jury where she helped decide a case involving prostitution and an undercover cop, TMZ.com reports.

Stewart, 19, was part of a 3-day trial in which a man was accused of paying an undercover cop for sex, but the defense argued that their client is not fluent in English and said that the language barrier caused a misunderstanding, according to the report.

In the end, the jury found the defendant not guilty.

But, according to E! Online, that wasn't the end of the story. Stewart may have inadvertently caused trouble at the Los Angeles Superior Court after a security guard supposedly requested a photo with the actress. She obliged, and the guard reportedly allowed his friend's wife to post the picture on the Internet. Now, the men's jobs may be on the line.

"Right now my husband and the security guard are in trouble," a person claiming to be the man's wife posted online, after yanking down the photo, "for [the picture] having gone up ... because it is confidential when celebrities are in court."

When reached, a court spokeswoman said the court doesn't comment on jurors. The actress's rep had no comment.

It's been a busy year for 'The Twilight Saga' star Peter Facinelli who has been juggling his schedule between shooting 'Eclipse,' the next film in the vampire franchise, with his role as Dr. Fitch Cooper on "Nurse Jackie." ET caught up with the jet-lagged actor to talk about both projects and his addiction to Twitter.

ET: You have a huge following on Twitter. What made you start?

Peter Facinelli: I just enjoy what Twitter is because I can really connect with the fans. It is a great way to share information with them and it is a good way to entertain. I like being able to put a smile on people's faces and mix that up with sharing information with them. That's important. Also, letting them know what I am doing. I have had people come to me and say, "Will you tweet this out?" There is like paid advertisement stuff. I am not into that. I want to keep my Twitter pure. I don't want to sell my followers anything, I want to be able to have that base, so I can tell them what I am doing and entertain them

ET: What will we learn about Dr. Carlisle Cullen in 'Eclipse'?

Peter Facinelli: You get to see a side of Carlisle you haven't seen before. There are some great battle sequences.

ET: Any word on 'Breaking Dawn'?

Yesterday I told you about Cherie Currie's impression of Dakota Fanning, who portrays the singer in director Floria Sigismondi's "The Runaways." So how does Kristen Stewart's Runaway stack up in the eyes of her real-life counterpart Joan Jett?

The rocker said she's pleased -- and with more than just the haircut.

"I thought she had a quiet intensity," Jett said at a Sundance round table discussion in support of the film. "The physical stuff ... just the way we move in space. We shake our legs, our hands are all over."

And those signature moves? "She just studied me, man."

Indeed, Stewart spent a few weeks at band camp to get a feel for the guitar, as Fanning did to master the mike.

So -- will the actresses be pursuing musical careers of their own?

"No," Stewart said, shaking her head at the idea. Looking to Fanning, she cracked, "We're not packaging this deal."

New York rebel Tyler isn't 'ridiculously innocent' like many male leads, 'Twilight' star says.

In March, Robert Pattinson will be hitting the big screen in the romantic drama "Remember Me." Pattinson steps out of the shadow of his brooding "Twilight" character Edward Cullen to play Tyler, a slightly misguided college student who's dealing with a family tragedy when he falls in love with a young woman, Ally, played by Emilie de Ravin.

In a new video posted on the film's Facebook page, Pattinson discusses his decision to tackle the role of the rebellious New York youth. "Initially, I remember reading the script and thinking ... um ... I like the flow of the dialogue and stuff," he said. "It was just different."

Pattinson, who will later this year reprise his role as Edward in "Eclipse," added that Tyler had a certain "it" factor about him that he hadn't seen in many other leading male roles in current films. "It seems like in a lot of ways main characters in other movies, when there is a young guy who is the lead he always seems like a vessel, [he] always [has] to be so naive and ridiculously innocent so the audience can feel that with [him] in the story," he explained. "Tyler didn't feel like that. He was a very specific character."

In a recent chat with MTV News, de Ravin spoke about her instant connection with Pattinson. "I flew to New York to test with Rob and we immediately got along and had instant great chemistry, which is not an easy thing to come by," she said. "Obviously you're acting, but you want to have that connection with somebody. We had it."

Sundance Film Review: 'Skateland'

It's 1983 and Skateland is closing. The once-great skating rink has seen a dramatic decline in business, prompting its owner to sell the building. For 19-year-old Ritchie (Shiloh Fernandez), not only does this mean he's about to be unemployed, he's also about to lose his safety net.

"Skateland" is the spiritual child of John Hughes' finest films in the '80s. Not because it directly steals from a particular Hughes film, but because it captures the spirit perfectly. I spent a large portion of the film geeking out by identifying all the LP covers (yes, we're talking vinyl), posters and songs and falling in love with Ashley Greene's Michelle Burkham (who wouldn't love a beautiful, smart and caring girl with a Depeche Mode and The Cure posters dominating her bedroom walls?).

The funny thing is, despite what you might think, I tried to hate "Skateland." Maybe it was because it walked so closely to the films that I love and was afraid that it would somehow tarnish my memories of "Pretty in Pink" or "Some Kind of Wonderful." Maybe it just emphasized that part of me that wishes I had been born a decade sooner. Regardless, "Skateland" proved impossible to dislike and I regret not allowing myself to fully enjoy it (who knows how long I will have to wait to see it again) because in the end, it is one of my favorite films from this year's festival.

"When I could do my own stunts," he told us. "I annoyed the producers enough to be able to say, 'I have three lines in this movie.' That was New Moon. Thank God, I have more in Eclipse. Bloodsuckers playing baseball for charity? Okay, we'll bite.

Twilight fans can watch stars from the Twilight series square off against some Saints � the New Orleans Saints, to be exact � in a March 20 charity baseball game to benefit Haitian earthquake relief efforts.

Peter Facinelli, who played vampire patriarch Carlisle Cullen in Twilight and New Moon, will lead a team that includes costars Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz and Tyson Houseman. Their professional athlete competitors include fullback Kyle Eckel and tailback Lynell Hamilton, members of the Super Bowl-bound Saints. (No word if Reggie Bush will have an at-bat.)

The exhibition game will take place in the Big Easy as part of a Celebrity Vampire Baseball in New Orleans event that includes other opportunities to mingle with the stars.

Proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross, Hope for Haiti Now and local organizations. The Blood Center will also host � what else? � a blood drive during the event.

'I was wearing really, really, really unattractive nude moleskin,' actress reveals of bathtub scene.

Kristen Stewart has been everywhere at this year's Sundance Film Festival: on red carpets, in extensive sit-down interviews and on the screen in two movies, "Welcome to the Rileys" and "The Runaways." Both films showcase the actress in her most mature roles to date, and in each one she shows more than a bit of skin (beware of spoilers below).

In the last shot of "Runaways," in which she plays real-life rocker Joan Jett, Stewart is seen floating underwater without any clothes on. Was that really her?

"Yeah," she confirmed to MTV News. "But you can't see anything."

As Stewart explained, you can achieve things on a movie set that you might not be able to under ordinary circumstances. "There are things you are capable of doing under the guise [of acting]," she said. "You're so safe. Plus I was not naked. I was wearing stuff. I was wearing really, really, really unattractive nude moleskin or something. Really, really, really gross. In the movie, it's like, 'Oh, it's cool, this looks objective. She's submerged. She's lost in this world, this ocean.' "

In "Rileys," too, Stewart appears onscreen both in skimpy outfits and, once or twice, without clothes on, though the images remain decidedly in the PG-13 realm. She plays a teenage stripper and prostitute, and the scenes in which Stewart bares her skin are played less like sexy moments and more as melancholy examples of the degradation her character encounters. In other words, the scenes make sense for the story line.

The actress, however, wasn't so sure that her oceanic nude scene in "Runways" made sense. But under the direction of Floria Sigismondi, Stewart went for it.

"I was like, 'What is this? I'm in a bathtub and suddenly I'm in an ocean. I don't understand. OK, I'll lay in the water and look like a tool,' " she said.

Dakota Fanning Says Biggest Perk Of 'Runaways' Role Was Getting To Keep The Clothes

When the first trailer for "The Runaways" hit last month, it was a bit of a shock to see Dakota Fanning rocking out to "Cherry Bomb" in a corset and seven-inch platforms. Her role as Cherie Currie in the film has been heralded as the beloved child star's first role where she can be seen as an adult, and Dakota is loving every second of it.

MTV News' Josh Horowitz got a chance to sit down with her at Sundance and ask how she felt wearing clothes she had never worn in a film before. "I loved it," Dakota replied with a smile on her face. "I loved the wardrobe so much. I loved it every day. And I got to keep it all, so that's the best part."

She said she hasn't had a chance to wear any of the clothing items yet, but she is ready to whip them out when she happens upon the perfect moment. "I'm still waiting for the right occasion to bring out the seven-inch silver platforms boots," Dakota said just as costar Kristen Stewart chimes in, "and the jumpsuit!"

We can hardly wait for that photo op!

Kellan Lutz Marries Mandy Moore In 'First Love, Then Marriage'

He may have lost the role of Conan the Barbarian to "Stargate Atlantis" actor Jason Momoa, but "Twilight" star Kellan Lutz has muscled his way into a new role in the romantic comedy "First Love, Then Marriage."

According to JustJared.com, Kellan will play Mandy Moore's husband in the rom-com, which also reportedly stars Blythe Danner (a.k.a. Gwyneth Paltrow's mom) and Christopher Walken. The film centers around Mandy's marriage counselor character, who after finding out her parents have separated, does all she can to bring them back together, to the detriment of her own new marriage.

The film is being directed by Dermot Mulroney, a man who knows a thing or two about romantic comedies having starred in the Julia Roberts-favorite "My Best Friend's Wedding."

This role marks Kellan's first foray into the genre, so we're curious to see how he fares. He's stated on several occasions that he wants to be the next big action star, but a role like this is no doubt a great way to diversify his resume. Mandy, on the other hand, isn't straying too far from her comfort zone having already played a newlywed in "License to Wed" and in real-life, marrying musician Ryan Adams in the spring of 2009.

On Saturday afternoon, Kristen Stewart slipped into the Racquet Club Theater here unnoticed by paparazzi or a throng of salivating fans � at least two of whom had paid $2,000 for tickets on eBay -- into the world premiere of her gritty family drama “Welcome to the Rileys.” So low-key was the “New Moon Saga” phenom, she passed from her SUV to the movie’s red carpet line without raising the suspicion of the mob desperately searching for any vestige of her.

What a difference a day makes. Sunday evening’s premiere of the Stewart-starring coming-of-age drama “The Runaways” -- in which she portrays proto-punk superstar Joan Jett -- was a media-saturated environment thick with spotlights, shouting reporters, elbowing paparazzi and camera crews standing on ladders. And everybody knew it the moment Stewart stepped into the building.

The actress seemed visibly recalcitrant on the “Runaways” red carpet at the Eccles Theater, answering no more than two questions per camera crew (and addressing the print reporter scrum for only a meager four minutes). As well, Stewart emanated her signature ambivalence toward stardom, biting her lip and running her hands through her hair in the face of many questions about getting in character as Jett, who co-founded the all-girl rock band in 1975.

“I talked to her all the time,” Stewart said of Jett on the carpet, appearing decidedly punk in an unzipped black hoodie, t-shirt and jeans. “To tell you what it was about would be me summing up for a soundbyte. And I don’t want to do that.”

She paused, knitted her brow and then continued.

“She’s incredibly outspoken and embodies freedom in every way,” Stewart said. “It wasn’t easy for me to get there.

Stewart’s remarks having been doled out in discrete (if somewhat oblique) soupcons and her artistic integrity still intact (even if the “Twilight” star left a few news crews more than a little disgruntled with her uncommunicativeness), she left the media bunch wanting more and was hustled off by a team of handlers, vanishing into the bowels of the theater.

Kristen Stewart's shocking depiction of a self-destructive 16-year-old stripper/prostitue in Welcome to the Rileys is bound to scandalize.

Those who prefer her only as Twilight's lovestruck Bella may be shocked, while others who know her more nuanced work in films such as Adventureland will see a fearless new side of the actress confirmed.

Rileys, the first of two films the Twilight and New Moon actress has at Sundance, premiered Saturday and co-stars James Gandolfini as the girl's burly protector, a grieving father who thinks he can save her in lieu of his own lost daughter.

Though she's playing young, this is no innocent story. Her character, sometimes calling herself "Mallory," sometimes "Allison," is vulgarly sexual, coming on to Gandolfini when he stops into a strip club on a business trip, though he is immediately turned off by her obvious youth and vulnerability. Instead, he pays her to let him try to save her -- but fines her for cursing, and tries to get her to leave her dangerous and degrading line of work.

In her first scene, Stewart is wearing knee-high fishnets, a bra that isn't much of one, and a red tartan skirt as she lunges and thrusts from the stage. It may sound provocative, but her character is so obviously wounded, both emotionally and physically, judging by the many bruises on her body, that it quickly becomes awful instead of enticing.

Gandolfini wants to throw his coat over her, and the audience does, too.

However the film is received, Stewart deserves credit for taking the risk of playing this part. It's a shockingly sexual performance, but not at all "sexy." Her character's vulgar come-ons suggest someone who may have a lot of experience, but still lacks any real understanding about intimacy.

For an actress like Stewart, it would be easy to play it safe. Knock out a romantic comedy or a Nicholas Sparks weepie while the vampire cash keeps rolling in from Twilight sequels. Instead, Stewart is challenging herself, and moviegoers, too.

By some strange cosmic fluke, Kristen Stewart portrays a 16-year-old runaway in both of the movies in which she appears at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

In the drama “Welcome to the Rileys,” which premiered Saturday afternoon at an industry-heavy screening at the Racquet Club Theater, the “New Moon Saga” superstar portrays someone quite unlike "Twilight's" long-suffering vampire-lover Bella Swan. That would be Mallory, a stripper-hooker with a penchant for wearing X-shaped pasties and G-strings (and sometimes no undies at all) with fishnet stockings who makes repeated references to the state of her “private parts” and sexual acts in language not suitable for publication in a family (or even PG-13-rated) blog.

Although her "Rileys" character initially claims to be 22, it is eventually revealed that Mallory ran away at an age when most teens are first getting a drivers license to live in semi-squalor in New Orleans, where she works in a French Quarter strip club in which she charges a little extra for more personal contact.

To get ready for the flesh- and soul-bearing part, the low-key Stewart -- dressed Saturday in the de facto Sundance regalia of military parka, distressed denim and sneakers -- said she didn’t “prep” per se, even though she studied some stripper dancing for the sake of greater realism.

“I’m not ‘playing a stripper’” she said with dripping emphasis before the film's first screening. “It’s really not a stripper movie at all. It sort of just opens your eyes about people that don’t have options. I know I’m speaking really vaguely about it.”

In the rock-surged comin- of-age drama “The Runaways,” Stewart portrays real-life rock icon Joan Jett, who co-founded the all-girl teenage band � yes, you guessed it � called the Runaways at age 16. The group burned brightly with righteous proto-punk fury then fizzled out between 1975 and ’79. In that film, Stewart snorts cocaine, makes out with co-star Dakota Fanning and drunkenly urinates on an electric guitar.

Did we mention that she embodies Jett almost perfectly?

“It’s, like, crazy,” Stewart said when a reporter asked her about her resemblance to one of rock’s foremost female titans. She bit her lip and ran her hand through her hair. “I can’t even accept it!”

It was one rockin' night in Park City, Utah, on Saturday when Joan Jett & The Blackhearts hit the stage at the Harry O's Concert Series.

In town lending her support to The Runaways, the biopic about Jett's '70s band The Runaways, the singer took the stage in a one-piece sequined leotard and sneakers.

But it wasn't her fashion choice that got the crowd going � it was special guests Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, who star in the movie premiering at the Sundance Film Festival.

After thanking the film's director, Floria Sigismondi, and other folks who worked on the film, Jett gave a shout-out to Stewart and Fanning who'd come up onstage, and thanked them in front of the audience.

Stewart, in ripped jeans and a dark hoodie, and Fanning, in sleek dark outfit and heels, waved and smiled as the crowd broke into thunderous applause. The two soon retreated backstage where they finished watching Jett's incredible show out of the spotlight.

The Runaways premieres Sunday at the Sundance Film Festival.

Robert Pattinson is on board.

I just got word that the Twilight star has signed on for Friday's Hope for Haiti telethon. As of right now, it looks like Rob will be the sole presenter in London, with performances by Jay-Z and Bono.

Stateside performers�some announced and others not�will include:

Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Shakira and Bruce Springsteen, who are among those performing live during the two-hour benefit, which will air on all the major television networks (including our very own E!).

Other mega-celebs who will present and/or help in the phone banks are Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal, Brad Pitt, Anna Kendrick, Zac Efron, Bradley Cooper, Ren�e Zellweger, Chris Pine, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Colin Farrell, Gabby Sidibe and Emily Blunt, among many others.

No word yet on Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, but as I was the first to tell you, Hollywood's hottest vampire movie trio is a very wanted group for the telethon because of the impact they would have with young people.

Greene’s career�and her life�has changed dramatically since she was cast in the blockbuster series. For one thing, teenage girls shake uncontrollably and burst into tears when they see her on the street. For another, it was just a couple of years ago that the 22-year-old Greene was struggling to land guest spots with no dialogue, and almost had to leave Los Angeles and return to her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, where she’d originally planned to study psychology and law. But now, she’s booking movies faster than she can make them�including her first big lead, in the upcoming supernatural thriller, The Apparition. Michael Sheen, Greene’s co-star in Twilight and New Moon, recently caught up with the actress.

MICHAEL SHEEN: Okay. This is my first question. This is the only really serious one, and then the rest are quite funny. The first one is: As an elf, raised by humans, have you found a lot of discrimination against the fairy folk here in Hollywood?

ASHLEY GREENE: Well, I think they’re just jealous that I sparkle and speak elfin and have cute little pointy ears.

SHEEN: It’s true.

GREENE: So, yes, there’s discrimination. But I really don’t care.

SHEEN: You do get described as pixie-like a lot. In my younger days, I used to get described as sort of elf-like. I think it’s probably a lot easier to deal with that if you’re a pretty girl, rather than a sort of average-looking boy.

GREENE: I’m sorry about your adolescence.

Summit Announces New Moon DVD Plans

The Twilight Saga: New Moon will be released on a two-disc special edition DVD and special edition blu-ray on March 20, 2010 � a Saturday street date that will allow for fans across the nation to celebrate at retailer's midnight release parties before taking home the film at 12:01am.

Bonus features include an audio commentary with director Chris Weitz and editor Peter Lambert; a 6-part documentary that takes you behind the scenes; exclusive band rehearsal footage with Muse; and music videos from Death Cab for Cutie, Anya Marina and Mute Math.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning, Michael Sheen and Anna Kendrick. Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone and Kellan Lutz return to their roles in the Cullen family.

'Runaways' Director: Kristen Stewart's And Dakota Fanning's Make-Out 'Will Cause An Explosion'

It's no secret that Kristen Stewart and Joan Jett became really close while the former was filming the latter's biopic, "The Runaways," but it seems like costar Dakota Fanning got pretty tight with the former rock star she was embodying as well: Cherie Currie. Some photos of the two at Cherie's 50th birthday party popped up on her Facebook about a month back, and we've got to agree with one of the comments on it: Cherie easily could have played herself in the film. Fifty years young, lady!

One of the many things that is sure to cause a stir from the film is the reported make-out scene between Dakota and Kristen. Writer and director Floria Sigismondi said, "In 'Edgeplay' (Cherie's memoir), Cherie mentions that Joan is really good in bed. I thought, 'I have to pry into this a bit. It will cause an explosion in the film. Why not go there?' "

It certainly will cause an explosion for all those used to watching Kristen make-out with her "Twilight Saga" costar, Robert Pattinson. We can only imagine what will happen if she goes farther onscreen with Dakota than her chaste kisses with Edward Cullen. Maybe "The Runaways" is moving up on our list of things to be excited for in 2010 already.

For anyone clinging to the image of Dakota Fanning as the lovable moppet in such movies as “Charlotte’s Web” or “The Cat in the Hat” (in which she utters lovably moppet-ish lines like “I wanna make cupcakes!” and “You better clean this mess up!”), her appearance in the rock-surged coming-of-age-drama “The Runaways” will come as a revelation (even for those who saw Fanning's tough-to-take "Hounddog").

“Hello Daddy/Hello Mom/I’m your ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb!” she snarls in character as the all-girl teenage rock group’s wild child singer Cherie Currie. As is detailed in this story (which will appear in Sunday’s Calendar section), in other scenes Fanning passionately makes out with co-star Kristen Stewart (as the movie’s Joan Jett), snorts all kinds of Class A drugs and whips fans into a frenzy by appearing in fishnet stockings and a revealing bodice.

G-rated family fun, “The Runaways” most certainly is not. Audiences will be able to see for themselves at the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 24 where the film premieres before reaching theaters in March.

According to the movie’s director Floria Sigismondi, Fanning and Stewart (who shared screen in "The Twilight Saga: New Moon") subjected themselves to a kind of rock ‘n' roll boot camp to more convincingly embody two still very much alive musical icons � members of a pioneering group that went on to inspire such all-female rock bands as L7, the Go-Gos, Sahara Hotnights and the Donnas.

Just a quick note on the subject of the Breaking Dawn film: there is no drama over whether the book should be one movie or two. My personal feeling is that it would be very difficult to cram the whole story into one movie (as I've said in many interviews previous to this), but if a great way of doing that surfaces, I'm all for it. Two or one, whichever way fits the story best is fine by me, and everyone I've spoken with at Summit seems to feel the same way. We're all excited to move forward on this, and we are slowly and surely getting there. I know people are anxious for news, and so sometimes gossip get fabricated to stir things up, but there's no basis to this particular story.

Summit has finally spoken out about their plans for the film Breaking Dawn. And personally it sounds to me that they are going to do what is very best for the story.

It's been one of the biggest questions surrounding Summit Entertainment's uber-successful "Twilight" franchise (apart, of course, from whether stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson really are a couple off-screen) -- just how the producers are going to manage to pull off a big-screen adaptation of "Breaking Dawn." The fourth book in Stephenie Meyer's juggernaut of a young adult fiction series about the epic love affair between high school student Bella Swan and her good-guy vampire beau Edward Cullen has plenty of heft, clocking in at upward of 750 pages, but it also has the distinction of being the most controversial entry in the saga.

Wyck Godfrey, the producer of all the films in the "Twilight" saga, admits that the creative team still doesn't know how they'll handle the character in the "Breaking Dawn" movie, but said that the plan is absolutely for the production to go forward -- as either one or two installments -- with an eye toward beginning to shoot in Vancouver this fall. All three stars are signed for "Breaking Dawn," he said, meaning that Stewart and Pattinson will be dealing with the joys and woes of interspecies parenting and newly minted heartthrob Taylor Lautner will return as often-shirtless shape-shifter Jacob Black.

At the moment, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who's penned all the "Twilight" movies, is working on the "Breaking Dawn" script(s). "It's a work in process," Godfrey said in an interview Friday. "The issue [of whether there will be one or two movies] is not going to be resolved until we get the full treatment and see whether it's organic. If it's not organic, I don't think it will be done, and if it is, it will be. It really has to do with how much level of detail from the books there is, with all of these new vampires that appear in 'Breaking Dawn,' the whole section about Jacob... It's a very long single movie if it does become a single movie."

"We were doing the hair and makeup and put in the cool contacts and I'm like, 'Guys, uh, what about the fangs?' And they're like, 'You guys don't wear fangs.' No fangs, no fun."

What a tough life for Up in the Air Golden-Globe nominee Anna Kendrick � jetting between film sets with a two-time PEOPLE Sexiest Man Alive winner and with one of the world's favorite vampires.

Shedding light on shooting Up in the Air with George Clooney and Twilight with Robert Pattinson, Kendrick, 24, tells Ellen DeGeneres on the TV's host's Jan. 8 show, "George gave me such a hard time about shooting Twilight. Whenever I came back, it was like, 'Oh sorry, this isn't the Twilight set. You're not working with Mr. Handsome.' He called Rob 'Mr. Handsome.' "

But Kendrick admits she helped egg on the pseudo-competition, bringing back a GQ magazine that she had Pattinson sign, "To George, Best of Luck. Hang in there. Love Rob."

Clooney's response? He signed his Esquire magazine, "Dear Rob, Thanks for all the inspiration. I'm a huge fan. Love, George, two-time 'Sexiest Man Alive.'
