Well we are getting word of some of the plans scheduled for New Years Eve. Kellan is going to be in Miami, Florida at the Shore Club where he will be hosting along with Kristin Cavallari & Robert Iler.

Peter will be joining Liza Minnelli, Katie Couric, Nick Lachey, Leona Lewis, Brandy, Sean Paul, Lady GaGa, Ne-Yo, Natasha Bedingfield, Gisele Bundchen and others at the Power the New Year at Duracell Power Lodge in New York. Peter and the others will be pedaling on specially designed snowmobikes to generate power, which Duracell will capture and use to illuminate the "2009" sign.

MovieFone interviewed Emma Watson as she is publicizing her film Tales of Desperaux. Some of the questions were related to Twilight:

What's your take on all the buzz surrounding 'Twilight,' which stars 'Potter' alum Robert Pattinson?
God, it's massive! I have no idea! I haven't seen it, so I can't really comment, but I'm just gob smacked by the amount of hype and publicity that it's getting. It's incredible. I mean, I'm so happy for Rob -- he must be over the moon. I'm so happy that everything's so successful for him -- it's amazing.

And what do you say to all the people calling it the next 'Harry Potter'?
I haven't heard that, to be honest -- I mean, that's quite a big claim to make! [Laughs] 'Harry Potter' is pretty massive!

Who do you think is the better role model: Bella from 'Twilight' or Hermione?
Not having seen the film [laughs] ... it would be a little unfair to comment, but of course I will say Hermione, because she is just the best.

What advice do you have, for Rob and other up-and-comers, on how to handle being a 'tween sensation?
I guess, just the people you have around you are so important. Your friends and your family ... just do not take them for granted. They're the people who know you best and who'll be with you through thick and thin and who'll be honest with you, and that's really important.

Ashley talks about working with Chris & other things related to New Moon:

"Chris put out a statement that I thought was very sweet, talking about how excited he is about the books. He read them and spoke with Stephenie, and he definitely wants to do them justice. Stephenie also released a statement saying she'd spoken with him. And with the two of them working together, because I'm sure Stephenie will be around a lot, I think he's going to do a great job. And like I said before, he did 'The Golden Compass,' so he's definitely familiar with the kind of film we're doing, as far as the technicality of the stunts and the CGI."

And the part of New Moon she is most looking forward to:

"Alice, [my] character, is a lot bigger and a lot heavier in the second one, so obviously I'm looking forward to that. And hopefully we'll go to Europe to film. I want to drive the yellow Porsche, really bad � in Europe. That's what I'm most excited about now. I keep saying I hope they let me drive it, because on the first 'Twilight' we wanted to do our own stunts, and they let us do everything we realistically could. So, I'm hoping if I learn how to drive stick-shift, they'll let me drive the Porsche."

She also talked a little more about the possibility of recasting the part of Jacob Black.

"I love him to death, and he'll grow; I know he's working out like crazy to try to bulk up. I think there are a lot of people [in 'Twilight'] who don't necessarily physically fit their part. So I'm hoping we keep him."

Michael: I have nothing against Taylor personally. I think he's great and tremendous at what he does. But it's just adjusting to the fact that Jacob has to grow. It's a matter of going with the storyline. It goes with the territory. I see so much in Jacob Black that I feel like wasn't brought to the first film that if I had the opportunity, I would totally create an amazing character. He's more than just a guy who walks around and smiles and likes Bella. It's just too one-sided. It's two colors and I feel like Jacob is full of a hundred colors.

Ashley & Kellan are playing love interests in a new project entitled Warrior where Kellan plays a lacrosse player named Connor and Ashley is Brooke the coach's daughter.

Ashley told MTV what the film is about.

“I’m the coach’s daughter. [Kellan] plays lacrosse, and basically the story is that his dad is a Marine, so they move around and they end up moving him back to his dad’s hometown where he played lacrosse. ['Warrior'] is about Kellan’s journey. It’s very much Kellan’s movie, which is really exciting for him. It’s his journey that he goes through, with trials and errors, and his temper and stuff like that. And I join forces with him, and my dad doesn’t like that very much, so we deal with that.”

They started filming this past week.

Entertainment Tonight went to Disney to find out if the rumors of Robert possibly starring in Pirates 4 were true. Here is what they found out:

ET goes straight to the source to find out if rumors that Robert Pattinson will star in the next 'Pirates' movie are legit.

As internet rumors and some published reports have speculated, Rob is supposedly lined up to play Johnny Depp's little brother in the fourth installment of the movie franchise.

A rep for Disney, however, says flatly, "It is not true."

What attracted you to the role of Bella?
My favourite thing about Bella is that she is supposed to fill this role of the damsel in distress, but in an odd way she sort of holds the power in the relationship. She is very sure of herself and is not afraid of the situation which is so much bigger than her. Bella and Edward have like a funny dynamic. He’s a vampire and he would suck the last bit of blood out of her, yet she’s completely fascinated by him.

Are you like Bella in anyway?
Bella is a very relatable character. I think that’s why girls have taken to the book so much. You read it and you put yourself in her shoes. Bella is a vessel. For Bella, I feel like everybody just puts themselves in that situation. She’s a very normal girl. I feel like I’m a fairly normal girl. She’s going through everything a 17 year old girl goes through which I am figuring out too.

Were you drawn to a particular scene that you looked forward to shooting when you read the book?
Yeah, one thing about this movie is that there are very iconic moments. If you read the book, there are moments in the film that are bigger in your mind. The reveal of what Edward is. Everything in this movie is a fight � like a fight to find out who he is. A fight to have him acknowledge it and to sustain that. I think when he reveals who exactly he is, he shows Bella his true colours so to speak. He shines and glistens in the sunlight. There’s a moment when he turns and shows her and he is ashamed. She’s looking at him thinking that this is the most unspeakable, beautiful thing in her life and he’s just ashamed of it.

One hates to use the word, but how do you feel about being part of a franchise?
I accepted the role of Bella Swan because it was something I felt compelled to do, even though I thought was very ambitious. I knew that we had a devoted fan base, but I thought it was exclusive. I thought it was going to be a cult movie. Well, I was wrong. But it’s good because I’m so used to working on small indie movies and putting so much time into them, and then they never see the light of day.

What do you like to read?
I’m into classic literature. My favorite book is East of Eden. Steinbeck calls it “The Big Book.” It covers fundamental ideas of good and evil. Other favorite writers ... oh, it’s so hard when you can only pick a couple of writers. It always seems like you are trying so hard to look like an intellectual.

Who do you hang out with when you are at home?
My friends are actors. My best friend is Nikki Reed, who is also in Twilight. And my boyfriend, Michael Angarano, is also an actor. I never thought I would date an actor, but he’s my best friend. I’ve known him since I was 13 years old. I live in the Valley. I’m sort of a typical Valley Girl. We just sit around and play guitar and watch movies and hang out.

The uncertain future of who'll be cast as Jacob Black in New Moon has "Twilighters" more nauseous than Bella piggy-backing Edward through the woods!

Although Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will return as star-crossed lovers Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in the Twilight sequel (which will be directed by Chris Weitz), Summit Entertainment has yet to give 16-year-old cutie Taylor Lautner the greenlight to return as Bella's werewolf bestie Jacob.

MTV is reporting that Scorpion King 2 star Michael Copon, 26, is in talks to take over where Lautner left off as a more physically mature Jacob in New Moon.

I have tried to keep an open mind about all the rumors and confirmed changes that will be taking place as the production of New Moon draws closer. I had mixed feelings when they announced that Catherine would not be returning to film the rest of the series of films. Yet I decided to wait until Summit officially released word of a new director. I am still sad that Catherine is not coming back yet excited about the prospect of Chris Weitz and the experience he is bringing to New Moon. I have high hopes that he will do an amazing job in bringing this story to the big screen.

The rumors about the possibility of not recasting Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black deeply concern me. I personally love Taylor and feel he did an excellent job at portraying Bella's best friend. I was excited to see what he could bring to the role as this young actor has shown a lot of promise along with a lot of enthusiam for his role as Jacob Black. There are other names that are being thrown around as possibilities. Here are my thoughts. There are more to a part then just the way someone looks. Acting ability and chemistry are huge factors and are two things I think Taylor has. I hope that both Mr. Weitz and the executives at Summit take that in to consideration. I also believe that consitancy in the casting is also very important.

One other thing to keep in mind is that there has still be no official word from Summit in regards to who will be playing Jacob. There have been all kinds of information posted online even by reliable media sources that has been proven incorrect. Once I hear official word on the decision of who will be playing this part I will post it here.

Here is to hoping that we will have Taylor back as the stories continue.

There's been a lot of worry and speculation on the boards lately, and I want to let you know what's going on.

First of all, like you, I'm sad that Catherine is not continuing on with us for New Moon. I'm going to miss her, not just as a brilliant director, but also as a friend. She has such a distinct, authentic voice that did amazing things for Twilight. I'm looking forward to every movie she does in the future.

And she didn't leave us empty handed. We still get the benefits of her amazing casting and the beautiful visual world she created. This foundation puts us in a good place for New Moon.

Summit Films is moving forward with a new director for New Moon. They've asked Chris Weitz, director of American Pie, About a Boy, and The Golden Compass, to join us, and I am very pleased to announce that he's agreed to be a part of our Twilight world. I've had the chance to talk to Chris, and I can tell you that he is excited by the story and eager to keep the movie as close to the book as possible. He is also very aware of you, the fans, and wants to keep you all extremely happy. (Torches and pitchforks are not going to be necessary.)

I'm excited to work with Chris and I think he brings a lot to the table, not the least of which for me is that he wrote the screenplay for and directed one of my favorite movies of all time, About a Boy. I'm really looking forward to seeing his vision for New Moon.

Dear fans of Twilight, New Moon, Bella, Edward and Jacob,

In the past few days I have been involved in a whirlwind romance with Stephenie Meyers' extraordinary books.

And I am very grateful to have received her permission to protect New Moon in its translation from the page to the screen.

For fans of the books and of the film of Twilight, this may come as an unexpected twist. So I want to write briefly to try to put you at ease, and to give you reason to hope for and expect the best.

For the last decade of my career as a director, I have chosen to make adaptations of complex and involved works of literature. This has always begun with the love of a book and its characters, story, and theme; and it has always involved a respect of and responsiveness to the feelings of other people who loved those books.

When I saw the film of Twilight, I was alternately entranced and left hungry for more. I was also struck by the extraordinary passion for the characters, story and theme that was evident in the people sitting in the seats around me. My job is to live up to that devotion.

Like many of you, I am a fan of Catherine Hardwicke's work. I can't really say much about why she is not doing New Moon because I wasn't involved in those decisions. But I can say that I will devote myself to making the very best and most faithful version of New Moon that can be brought to the screen. To those who doubt that as a male director I can capture Bella's experience, I can only say that emotion is universal and that my work has often involved working with some of the most talented actresses in the world.

For the rest, the proof will have to be in the pudding. But I promise to remain responsive to your hopes and fears.

Nicole Sperling of EW.com has announced that Chris Weitz has agreed to direct New Moon.

Weitz is best-known for his work with his brother Paul. The two directed and produced American Pie and then were nominated for an Academy Award for best screenplay for About a Boy, which they also co-directed. Chris' first solo directing gig, The Golden Compass, didn't do well stateside but was a hit internationally.

Weitz has a solid relationship with Summit's top brass; he's considered easy to work with and has experience with special effects. "He's the quality-of-life-choice," says one source. While Summit insists "we have not yet signed Chris Weitz to do New Moon," and Weitz's agency says no deal has been signed, other sources say the deal is imminent, and that Summit has stopped negotiations with other potential Moon directors. Summit had planned to announce this hiring decision on Sunday, Dec. 14, and could have Weitz in Vancouver, B.C. as early as Monday to start pre-production on the film.

Rob signs on for a new film

Robert will be starring in the film Parts Per Billion along with Rosario Dawson, Olivia Thirlby and Dennis Hopper. The film starts shooting in January.

Rosario Dawson said, “It’s an ensemble story, [The script features several] different storylines that are going on.”

About filming with Robert, “I don’t have a relationship to him in the film. So we never meet. But we’re all within the same group of people, and the same city of people, that are responding to a life-threatening situation.”

Rosario is a recent fan of Twilight and said the following: “I haven’t met him yet, but I’m really looking forward to it. Catherine Hardwicke is someone I really adore, and have been casual friends with over the years.”

Catherine talked with Larry Carroll at MTV.com and revealed some of the possibilities for the Twilight DVD.

"We just did the commentary," Hardwicke grinned when she came to visit our studio right after "Twilight" opened, revealing that she had spent time in an audio booth with stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart that very morning. "We were like, 'Is this the lamest commentary ever?' We were just laughing! I was thinking, 'Should we do something really serious with myself and the stunt guy and special-effects people and show aspiring filmmakers how we did those special effects?' But nope. We did the giggle version. [Rob and Kristen were] remembering the funny stuff that happened and the crazy stuff. They make fun of how they look in the movie."

Catherine talked about how she thought the dvd would hit stores sometime in the Spring of 2009.

About deleted scenes:

"We have 10 deleted or extended scenes. There's some juicy stuff in there," she said, adding that one would correct an omission spotted by many Meyer fans. "I think in one of them, [Edward and Bella] do say, 'I love you.'

"There are some scenes that are longer, and some scenes that we don't have in the movie," Hardwicke explained. "There's one scene that's not in the film where Rob and Kristen are walking alone, and he trips her and they fall back into these leaves, and then he takes a bite of her finger. ... It's Kristen's favorite scene."

Bill Zwecker from the Chicago Sun Times posted an article in regards to Kristen & Robert's feelings on Catherine not returning to direct New Moon. Here is a clip from the article:

''They are both very upset,'' a good Hollywood source told me Monday. ''They are committed to doing at least the next 'Twilight' film -- and probably the one after that -- but they really wanted to do them with Catherine.''

Stewart in particular, is furious about it, reportedly telling a close associate, ''I sure hope they don't f--- it up,'' referring to the "New Moon" movie.

Jackson is in talks to be cast in the newest M. Night Shyamalan film. He will possibly play the part of Sokka, a friend to one of the leads.

The film is a live-action film based on the anime-inspired Nickelodeon animated series, "The Last Airbender." It is going to be a trilogy and the first film will open in July 2010.

No Taylor Lautner for New Moon?

EW.com has reported that there is a definite possibility that Summit is considering recasting for the part of Jacob Black in the film New Moon. Here is what Nicole Sperling reported:

Two sources tell EW the studio doesn’t want to rehire baby-faced Taylor Lautner (pictured) as Jacob, though Lautner’s agent has apparently reached out to the imaging company behind The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in an attempt to demonstrate to Summit how a digitally bulked-up Lautner could work. (Summit says it won’t make a decision until a new filmmaker is on board.) There’s also the matter of finding a cast of Native American actors to play Jacob’s werewolf clan � a difficult challenge Hardwicke was also faced with before settling on Lautner, who isn’t completely Native American. And with a slightly increased budget of $50 million � much of which is assumed will go to leads asking for heftier paydays, location shoots in Italy, and ramped-up F/X � Summit will have to scrimp somewhere.

New Director Possibility

Larry Carroll at MTV.com reported this rumor today about the possibility of Chris Weitz. Weitz has also directed such films as American Pie, About a Boy and the Golden Compass.

Here is Larry Carroll's thoughts:
The move is fascinating if true for many reasons, the main one being that Weitz’s last film was perceived by many as dropping the ball on a potential franchise. The writer/director’s problems with what would become “The Golden Compass” have been well-documented, and his Nicole Kidman/Daniel Craig flick has gone down in history as one of 2007’s biggest disappointments, if not the film that killed New Line Cinema.

Summit sent out an email to the fans about Catherine not returning for New Moon.

As most of you have already heard, Catherine Hardwicke will not be returning to direct NEW MOON.

Summit and Catherine worked hard to make schedules work, but ultimately the decision to bring the fans the next chapter as soon as possible would not fit with Catherine's schedule.

We will miss Catherine's involvement, but please know that Summit and Stephenie Meyer will make sure the next director to take the reins will have the same devotion and respect for the property and the fans.

It is our priority at Summit to make sure the TWILIGHT saga proceeds with the fans in mind.

We appreciate the overwhelming support you have given us, and look forward to working with you on NEW MOON.

"Catherine and Summit have agreed to part ways on the sequel because our visions are different. Summit’s targeted end of 2009 or early 2010 release of the film, New Moon, does not work with Ms. Hardwicke’s required prep time to bring her vision of the film to the big screen."

Personally I have mixed feelings about this news. I would have preferred that they take a little additional time and have Catherine come back then to rush the process of making New Moon. Yet we have no idea who they are going to have direct it and they might have some new ideas that we might love.

On the tails of the announcement that Kristen is going to be playing Joan Jett in the upcoming movie The Runaways people are debating if this was a good choice. Hot on the heels of Twilight's box office killing, Kristen Stewart has been cast as rocker Joan Jett in 2009's The Runaways, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The biopic focuses on Jett's all-girl band of the same name, which rocked its way to moderate success Stateside and even greater stardom abroad in the late '70s. This is the second "edgy" role Stewart has taken on since starring in the vampire flick. Perhaps not wanting to be typecast as gawky teen Bella Swan, Stewart will play a stripper in the upcoming Welcome to the Rileys. She talked with EW earlier this year about frequenting a strip club in New Orleans to prepare for the role. ''I danced on the bar there three nights this week, and my legs are covered in bruises,'' Stewart said. ''Hopefully, the Twilight fans won't totally freak out.''

This is very exciting as I think this is the part that Kristen was referring to when she did the MovieFone Unscripted interview I posted a little bit back. Congrats Kristen!

Fresh from the success of "Twilight," Kristen Stewart is set to portray Joan Jett in "The Runaways," the rock 'n' roll biopic of the 1970s all-girl band.

Video director Floria Sigismondi wrote the screenplay and is directing, while John and Art Linson and River Road Entertainment's Bill Pohlad are producing. Jett will act as an executive producer.

The Runaways were hugely influential as the first successful all-girl hard rock band; its members included guitarists Jett and Lita Ford, drummer Sandy West, singer-keyboardist Cherie Currie and bassist Jackie Fox. The band was brought together in late 1975 by impresario Kim Fowley, who thought a novelty act of teenaged girls performing in leather and lace would be an easy sell, but the girls ended up proving to be serious and influential musicians with songs like "Cherry Bomb." The band lasted about four years together, falling apart over management and money issues.

Jett continued her rock career into the '80s, forming the Blackhearts and scoring with such hits as "I Love Rock N' Roll" and "I Hate Myself for Loving You." She continues to record and tour.

The film will revolve around Jett and Currie and follow them from the band's meteoric rise as teenagers to their dissolution and disillusionment.

The movie is eyeing a 2009 start and will work around Stewart's commitments to the two "Twilight" sequels. The first one, "New Moon," is expected to shoot sometime in first-quarter 2009, with Stewart reprising her role as Bella, the human who falls for a vampire.

"Twilight" has made more than $120 million since opening Nov. 21.

"Runaways" reunites the Gersh-repped Stewart with Art Linson and Pohlad, with whom she worked on "Into the Wild." She also appeared in the Linson-produced "What Just Happened."
